FFT secures new orders in excess of A$900,000

September 05, 2016
  • New perimeter security contract for rail extension project in SE Asia
  • Order for multiple Secure Point controllers to protect 16 new US solar parks
  • Growing demand from US utility sector driven by a Government legislation

Future Fibre Technologies Limited (ASX: FFT), a global leader in fibre optic intrusion detection systems, today announced that it has secured two important new perimeter security contracts valued at over A$900,000, reflecting the investments in new sales headcount.

FFT Chief Executive Rob Broomfield said that over the last six months FFT has experienced increasing interest from the US utilities sector for its perimeter security applications.

“Solar energy deployments are growing at record pace in the United States – primarily due to State-based requirements for utilities to obtain an increased percentage of power from renewable energy sources. In addition, the US Government’s most recently proposed NERC standard, CIP 014, has increased industry focus on the protection of key physical assets. With a solid track record in delivering perimeter security solutions to utility operators worldwide, FFT is very well positioned to capitalise on these new compliance requirements."

The order for FFT Secure Point controllers will roll out progressively to the end of December 2017.

“Transport infrastructure security is also a growing market segment for the application of FFT’s broad range of perimeter intrusion detection solutions. The new South East Asian rail project, coupled with previous airport security contracts and FFT technology upgrades, demonstrates the ongoing opportunities in this sector for our fibre optic based security solutions.”

FFT is showcasing its intrusion detection technology at ASIS 2016 – on of the world’s most influential security conference and trade show – from 12 to 15 September in Orlando, Florida, USA.
